Pathways
An ethnographic documentary film that questions college readiness, belonging, equity, and “the system” in general

Pathways came out a of a class I took called Ethnographic Filmmaking. With two other students, I first completed a several-month-long ethnography with a class at an experimental Philadelphia public school called the Workshop School, getting to know the group and their stories, goals and adversities. Then, my team and I produced, shot and edited this documentary film. It’s our effort to encapsulate what the Workshop students and teachers taught us, namely the questions about education they encouraged us to ask. If you have 12 minutes, I hope you find this thought-provoking and worthwhile.
