Grow A Pear
A mobile app that uses storybook-style imagery make community gardening glamorous (and the project won my team second place in a hackathon)

The app
I developed Grow a Pear with an interdisciplinary team during a hackathon. The event was part of my internship with Esri, the world leader in mapping software. Each team’s app submission had to use Esri mapping technology, so my group chose to focus on connecting individuals in a geographic area to facilitate community-based gardening.
The brand (abridged)
Grow A Pear’s icons are designed for versatility across mobile, web and print advertising. They are effective at different scales—from the buttons in the app to big outdoor signage! I chose Mrs Eaves as our typeface, since its transitional nature blends elements of old and new in the same way our app adapts a traditional practice like farming for the digital age.
